Let’s get honest. Most personal trainers aren’t earning what they deserve. In fact, most aren’t even close.

When we delve into the world of medicine, we uncover another hurtful truth that needs to be confronted. Most physicians do not respect personal fitness trainers as professionals. These realities create inevitable blocks for those fitness professionals who seek growth, see the virtues in medical fitness, but realize the course is filled with pitfalls and landmines.

This workshop, complete with hands-on exercises and interactive brainstorming, teaches the ambitious career-oriented Personal Trainer to take full responsibility for the development of his or her business.
BUNDLE WITH JR BURGESS' WORKSHOP FOR FULL DAY INTENSIVE! Includes an extra 2 hours of content: Immerse yourself in this full day and experience a complete career transformation, lifting you up to align your outcomes with your dreams. Yes, it’s a bold promise, and yes, it will deliver!

In addition to the two 3-hour sessions, Phil Kaplan’s “Blue Ocean” session and JR Burgess’ “Impact” course, you’ll participate in an intensive two hour workshop designed to help you identify your greatest potential and streamline a course for you to change your future. The “Creative Tension” workshop has been conducted for high-level executive and seasoned medical professionals. This is the first time it’s been available for fitness professionals.

Full day runs 8:00-5:00pm with an hour break for lunch

The current healthcare structure brings intense challenges for the entire healthcare system to sustain long-term. The upside is that there is a large opportunity for innovative medical practices and fitness professionals to join forces and to protect their futures by adding cash-based models and preventable care to their current standard. This model is maturing at an extraordinary pace; the obesity epidemic and the incidence of disease and injury have forced the need for a preventable, medically integrated, outcome-based model of medical fitness.

At this workshop, you will learn the 6 step  “Medical  Fitness  I.M.P.A.C.T.  Plan” that will prepare to you join or develop a sustainable and profitable medical fitness training business. You will leave with a comprehensive business plan and other valuable physical assets that will give you the structure, capabilities and confidence to  launch your career to the next level.

As we age, the body goes through many changes. Unfortunately, most of those changes include decreases or deficits in our functional capacities. Not only does our body go through many of these changes, but the mind also begins to decline and various activities which were once “an easy thing” or “not a problem”, now are not easy to perform and they are a problem.

Luckily, the path toward aging is not filled with doom and gloom. There are many strategies and many lifestyle adaptations we can make to slow this decline, and in some cases, even reverse the deficits. Exercise and diet are featured amongst these strategies and they are the focus of this program. However, like the old saying goes, “you must learn to crawl before you can walk, and learn to walk well, before you can run.” This program will take you (the medical fitness specialist) on a journey which enables you to handle clients who have trouble walking all the way to those who enjoy running and other forms of activities.
Join speakers and other attendees for a pre-conference mixer at Campus Jax. Campus Jax is located at 3950 Campus Drive in Newport Beach (About 4 miles from event venue).
We are at an amazing crossroads in time. Modern medicine is rife with innovations, from genetic exploration to stem cell therapies. As pharmaceutical discoveries flood the marketplace and research reveals novel strategies for battling pathogens and extending human life, chronic disease continues to tap the bar of “all-time high.” As the mainstream seeks allopathic solutions, the resurgence of age-old approaches involving mind, spirit, and Eastern philosophies gains new footing and recognition. Perhaps the single area most promising in hope of bringing all invaluable elements together and controlling and ultimately reversing the chronic disease epidemic is the area separated from medicine, isolated as “fitness.”

There exists a definitive space between the boundaries of conventional medicine and the “scope” of the personal fitness trainer, and a thorough exploration of science can only reveal the value of using exercise, lifestyle, and nutritional strategies to not only prevent, but reverse chronic disease. There is a clear need to drawing a conduit between fitness and the medical field, ultimately filling the chasm in between with a new breed of practitioner. We’re at a pivotal point in time where it appears as if the answers lie in that middle space.

In this session, we’ll explore:
  1. How understanding a template of chronic disease can empower specialized agents in the fitness field to become the pivotal force in “cure.”
  2. What six concerns must be integrated into the personal trainer scope of practice if the two fields, fitness and medicine, are going to co-operate for optimal benefit to the unwell population
  3. How and why the elevated fitness professional can and should be a key player in any individual’s allied health care
  4. Why crystallizing a new vision of the future of medicine positions the trainer and physician as truly complementary practitioners working toward the greatest good.
It’s time for the ‘space between” to be recognized and inhabited. This session will change the way you think about your career, the face of medicine and the future of our nation.

Learning Objectives
  • Use Nutrient per Calorie Density to structure dietary recommendations and understand how nutritional science can impact the aging process and prevent disease
  • Understand the differences between various high-carbohydrate foods that affects their influence on health.

How often has a patient/client come to you with a mystery pain or illness with no clear physiologic cause, but as you're treating them, it becomes clear that there are places in their lives causing more than enough friction to lead to somatic findings? We all know the root of disease is dis-ease - and that so very many of the ailments we treat every day are caused by or exacerbated by stress from those areas of our lives where stress has replaced ease. How to Reverse Chronic Disease and Degeneration while Building Your Bottom Line

With the uncertainty regarding the future of the Health Care System, physicians and private practices are looking for solutions during these fearful and uncertain economical times. There is fear that the Affordable Health Care Act will make it difficult for private practices to survive, and for doctors to make the living they deserve. Facts are, with rising costs, reimbursements are sure to be cut. Fortunately there is a new cash based model that doctors are implementing that can have both a positive financial outcome for your practice but it provides a solution to rising health care costs by reducing obesity. In 2018, CMS will be releasing the Diabetes Prevention Program aimed at adding wellness and preventative services to help combat the rising cost of health care and as a solution to manage and prevent chronic disease.

Alzheimer’s disease is a very destructive and disabling disease. Once it sets in and progresses there is little to nothing that can be done to stop its progression. There is no cure for it and it harms not just the patient with the disease but all the loved ones and caretakers of that person.

There is hope however. The best defense is a good offense for this disease. By being proactive you can reduce the chances of onset, delay the onset if it is inevitable, and slow its progress, especially in the early stages. The treatments for it are simple and most anyone can receive them- exercise and diet. There are many powerful anti-Alzheimer’s/anti-dementia exercises and certain dietary factors that will aid us in fighting this terrible disease. Learn from Dr. Mark Kelly about the disease, what causes it, how it progresses, and how you can program in mentally engaging exercises which stimulate the mind and body, and use dietary factors such as phytochemicals and special fats to help counter the onset of this disease.
