Dr. Jessica Knurick, Director of Clinical Product & Education at Toolbox Genomics, is a healthcare practitioner, researcher, and speaker dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of individuals through easily-adoptable preventive health strategies.
A lifelong athlete, she became increasingly interested in the impact nutrition and lifestyle strategies could have on her own performance as a collegiate basketball player. Her interest naturally evolved into disease prevention and optimizing health when she realized the powerful impact diet, exercise, and lifestyle could have on the prevention of chronic disease, which had impacted close family members.
After spending nearly a decade conducting research and working closely with individual clients to improve their health, she knows the importance of prevention in healthcare and is passionate about bridging the gap between scientific research and universal practice by bringing evidence-based, accurate health and nutrition information to our communities. She has lectured and presented nationally, consulted for small and large corporations, and published several articles on nutrition and health topics.
Prior to joining Toolbox Genomics, Dr. Knurick was an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she taught courses and conducted research into preventive health strategies and personalized approaches to reduce risk of chronic disease.
Dr. Knurick is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and holds a Ph.D. in Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Wellness from Arizona State University. She currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her fiancé and enjoys distance running, plant-based cooking, and sending screenshots of the temperature back to her family in Michigan each winter.
